I think the key take away for conversationsabout any digital cable is that it isn't one's and zero's that are beingtransmitted. It's analog square wavesthat represent those one's and zero's. Because of that just like with any other cable the integrity of thesignal within the cable is impacted by everything from length, dielectric, conductor material, conductor gauge, etc.
The other thing to bring up would bediscussions on noise. Ethernet and USBboth benefit by better shielding. Digital transmissions are impacted by external noise greatly. It's one of the reasons we employ both singleand dual layer shielding to keep that reduced.
Lastly with Ethernet cables the category ofit will contribute to the performance. Cat 7 cables compared to cat 6 have a higher bandwidth and speed which willtranslate to increased performance. Better tolerances translates into better signal transfer.
