Remember the times when you had to buy print magazines for synth news, reviews, or interviews? The time when you could only get information from there and not for free from the world wide web. Yes, times have changed a lot in recent years. More and more online media were founded, hello Synth Anatomy, at the same time, many print magazines disappeared from the market. Those who are still there are struggling to survive as online magazines and YouTube are more popular and faster in covering news, reviews, etc. But in the deep synth world, there are still print magazines that try to offer content that others don’t have. So very deep special interest magazines like Waveform Magazine from the US or SynMag from Germany. A new one has now premiered in Australia called Modul8.  Modul8 Modul8 is a magazine on paper. Something special in this connected, modern world. The magazine is produced off-grid and attempts to limit its carbon footprint where possible. The first issue consists of 56 pages of utter synth geekery featuring artists and instruments alike. According to the publishers, it features various in-depth interviews (Detroit/Berlin-based Dub Monitor, synth YouTuber JAde Wii, Pure Data wrangler Nicky Systems…), synth setup talks, and more. There are also features on the unfulfilled promise of grooveboxes plus an interview with the director of Lunar Orbit, a full length documentary on The Orb.
