Native Instruments has released the firmware 1.4 for the Maschine+ groovebox that unlocks a new auto sampler functionality and more. The Maschine+ is Native Instruments’ first standalone hardware groovebox. It is based on the software of the machine MIDI controllers. It is known that the M+ is not yet perfect. Some features are still missing or need to be expanded. The good news is that development has continued in recent months. One of the most requested features is the ability to auto-sample synthesizers, etc. like in the Akai MPC/Force. Today, NI published firmware 1.4 that unlocks this functionality for the Maschine+. Maschine+ 1.4 firmware NI Maschine+ 1.4 Maschine 1.4 unlocks the new Auto Sampler offering a fast and straightforward way to sample external synths, drum machines, and more. It comes with a variety of different parameters including recording, input, note map, and velocity map. The recording tab sets the recording mode, the sample time, and the note on time. The input section sets the input source, note map the note range that is sampled with key low and key high, and the velocity map the velocity layers. The special thing about this one is that the sampling process happens automatically. In this process, you don’t have to press any notes, etc. that’s what the automatic system does. This allows you to turn, for example, any monophonic Synthesizer into a poly-sonic synth. Further, the firmware update 1.4 comes with a new chord inversions function that brings the creative process further on the Maschine +. In addition, it brings performance and stability improvements, and a new auto project recovery function that ensures your work is always protected.
It’s great to see that the development of the Maschine+ continues. The new auto sampler is definitely a major upgrade that expands the sampler capabilities of the unit a lot.
